Jeni Crone is an artist, writer, and educator. She grew up in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky and moved to Chicago in 2006 to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received a BFA with an Emphasis in Writing. Since 2009, she has been a dedicated volunteer at 826CHI, a nonprofit creative writing and tutoring center serving thousands of students across Chicago. She has also worked with the Center for Community Arts Partnerships (CCAP), and taught Saturday art classes in Highland Park as part of the Art For All program.  She came to Columbia College Chicago to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching as a recipient of the Follett Graduate Merit Award. Her graduate studies culminated in student teaching apprenticeships at Nicholas Senn High School and Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School. Jeni has taught at Kelvyn Park School and currently teaches at Lindblom Math and Science Academy.
